About Weihai
Located at the eastern tip of Shandong Peninsula, Weihai, a well- known port and tourist city in China, is one of the coastal open cities and the first national Environmental City in China as well as one of the first national Model Cities for Environmental Protection.
Weihai covers an area of 5,436 square kilometers with a population of 2.47 million. The city proper has an area of 731 square kilometers with a population of 569,438. Weihai has the jurisdiction over three county-level cities of Rongcheng, Wendeng, Rushan and one district of Huancui.
Climate & Surroundings
At Longitude 120°11′-122°42′ and latitude 36°41′-37°35′, Weihai exactly lies in the dividing line of the North and the South. The average temperature is 12°C, and the average precipitation is over 800mm. With the four seasons distinctively different, Weihai enjoys an agreeable climate. Backed by the mountain and facing the sea, the urban area is endowed with the charming surroundings. The environmental quality indexes such as atmosphere, water and noise have reached or surpassed the national standards, which makes Weihai an ideal place for tourism, summer resort and recuperation.
Scenic Spots
Weihai has beautiful surroundings with mountain and sea, and many relics. Its cleanliness and pleasant weather attract a lot of tourists and is a famous tourist city. There are rich underground spring and more than 70 of natural sea bathing places, and also built four province-class tourist resorts, including Huancui, Rushan Beach, Shidao Bay of Rongcheng and Swan Lake.
There are over ten scenic spots in the city. Liugong Island has many State's protected relics in memory of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895. Chengshantou named as "The end of the sky" has a beautiful landscape and is the scenic spot at the State level, where the emperors of Qin and Han Dynasties visited. Kunyushan was called the Ancestor of Fairy Mountain on Sea in history. The scenic spot of Tiechashan is the birthplace of Quanzhenism branch of Taoism, and have many relics. Rongcheng Swan Lake is the largest winter habitat of swans in northern China.

Traffic Information
To attend the conference, domestic participants may fly to either Weihai (Airport Code: WEH) or Yantai (YNT), or take a train to Weihai.
From abroad, one may fly to Beijing (PEK) and then take a domestic flight from PEK to either Weihai (WEH) or Yantai (YNT).

Note that MU5136 will depart from Terminal 2 of PEK. Plan 1/2 hour to get to Terminal 2 from the international arrival Terminal 3.
Or, one may fly to Shanghai Pudong (PVG) or Shanghai Hongqiao
